Fresno Building Healthy Communities is a coalition of residents, youth, community- and faith-based organizations working to create #OneHealthyFresno where all children and families can live healthy, safe, and productive lives.
The goals of Fresno Building Healthy Communities are broad, comprehensive and ambitious. They span a wide range of issues and reflect the underlying belief that social, environmental, and economic factors all together have an impact on the health and well-being of individuals and community as a whole.
Fresno Building Healthy Communities serves as the "central table." It brings leaders together to devise and implement innovative solutions to some of the community’s most pressing challenges. Fresno Building Healthy Communities guides and supports multi-sector, diverse stakeholder collaboration in order to carry out the vision and plan for a healthy community that is as complete as possible. It helps coordinate their activities and answer to each other. Fresno Building Healthy Communities develops collaborative structures and principles that consider Fresno’s unique factors and history. This includes principles related to partnership and leadership, and promoting understanding of and commitment to community stated priorities, taking into consideration the language and cultural traditions of the residents it represents.
