UAB Freda is one of the oldest Lithuanian furniture manufacturing companies and it started its activity as a sawmill on 25 January 1880. The current UAB Freda dates back to 2 March 2001 and has been operating independently and successfully ever since.
Business development and technological renewal are they key drivers of UAB Freda; thus, a new furniture manufacturing company, UAB Freda II, was opened on 20 of March 2019. This is the first Lithuanian "Wood Products Manufacturing Innovation" cluster company located in Kaunas Free Economic Zone.
UAB Freda II places great emphasis on social responsibility and environmentally friendly practices, so functionality and sustainability were the main criteria for the construction of UAB Freda II. The plant uses energy-efficient heating and lighting solutions, advanced production equipment, airtight structural units, polyurethane insulation, a biofuel boiler room and heat pumps, and an infrared heating system. All of this has resulted in an A++ energy efficiency class.
UAB Freda and UAB Freda II manufacture furniture for a major Swedish group and produce most of their products in the form of chests of drawers, shoeboxes, cabinets, shelves, etc. The furniture is produced by painting with pigmented paint or by coating with decorative paper. The products are exported to 50 countries worldwide.
Both UAB Freda and UAB Freda II have over 1,500 employees. The team is multidisciplinary and everyone is encouraged to bring in new ideas, promote progress, and contribute to the realization.
