The Foundation for the Development of Caribbean Children (FDCC) is a non-profit organisation which has been registered under the Companies Act of Barbados; 1984. The FDCC evolved from the highly successful 10 year old Caribbean Child Support Initiative (CCSI). The CCSI, an intermediary regional programme, was established by the Bernard van Leer Foundation (BvLF) to address issues relevant to poor parenting practices and inadequate cognitive stimulation of young children living in difficult social and economic circumstances.
