Foundation Housing is a not for profit, community housing organisation which provides affordable housing for West Australians on low incomes and those who are vulnerable to homelessness.
We are the State’s largest rental property manager with more than 2,000 tenancies, housing around 3,500 people in 132 suburbs and towns across WA, including in the Kimberley and Pilbara. We have property ownership assets of $200 million and manage assets of $650 million. As a high-impact social enterprise, we operate a commercial model that invests all profits back into addressing housing need.
In the past five years we have delivered almost 300 new affordable homes across WA. However, we also understand that the underlying issues in social housing cannot be addressed solely by increasing the supply of affordable housing.
We work in partnership with our tenants and community, government and other service providers to reduce demand for social housing by supporting our tenants and lodging residents to make a positive exit from the system if they are able to do so.
Our core strategies to achieve this are to impact demand, leverage growth opportunities from our existing assets and from partnerships, and ensure our organisation is aligned so that we can operate efficiently and effectively.
We are constantly evolving, seeking better and more efficient ways to meet our tenants’ needs and to address the unmet demand for affordable housing. We do this because we understand that having a safe and secure home provides people with the foundation to look forward with hope.
