Fortem Australia is a not-for-profit organisation that supports the mental fitness and wellbeing of first responder families.
Every day, more than 300,000 first responders keep our communities safe. They are backed up by their families: partners, children and parents. All of them hold vital, and challenging, roles.
We help them to be well, and stay well, through mental fitness and wellbeing activities and support services.
- We support first responder families to improve and protect their mental fitness
- We connect families together to strengthen family bonds
- We activate community and individual awareness and education
- We collaborate with organisations to foster a collective effort to improve wellbeing
Fortem is Latin for brave – which is how we describe first responders and their families.
Fortem was established in early 2019 by the co-founders of Soldier On, John Bale and Dr Danielle Clout, along with Joanne Gonsalves, Lauren Phillips and Darrin Lincoln.
