The first Fernwood Women’s Health Club was established in Central Victoria in 1989 when Diana Williams recognised a need for women to have their own special space – a sanctuary to work out in a relaxed environment and enjoy regular exercise.
Since this time, Fernwood Fitness has become synonymous with Australian women’s health and fitness. Today, with Clubs all over Australia, Fernwood is the largest organisation of its kind with over 70,000 members with staff trained to support, encourage and motivate every member achieve their health and fitness goals!
Fernwood Learning Pty Ltd, a nationally Recognised Training Organisation (RTO), was created in 2007 when Fernwood identified a requirement to lift the quality of graduates from fitness courses. Fernwood, synonymous with quality, had high expectations of its employees, so has the same expectations of its graduates, many of whom work within our clubs.
Since 2007 Fernwood Learning has grown to offer additional qualifications, as well as continual education courses for current and future fitness professionals.
The executive team made up of Fernwood CEO and Founder Diana Williams as well as RTO Manager David Ball, have over 45 years’ experience between them in the fitness industry and 25 years’ experience in training and assessment delivery.
Our Fitness Trainers and Assessors each have over 10 years’ experience in the fitness industry, have degrees in Exercise Science and Human Movement and over 5 years’ experience as trainers and assessors. Our Weight Management Trainers and Assessors hold Masters in Nutrition, are registered Nutritionists and are experienced trainers and assessors.
Our professional development programs are delivered by experts in their fields, many with International presentation experience.
