Femina Hip is an award winning multimedia platform working with youth, communities, and strategic partners across Tanzania. We specifically target young women and men, aged 13-30 years. The aim of our work is to promote healthy lifestyles, sexual and reproductive health and rights, economic empowerment, citizen engagement and gender equality activities and multimedia products focusing on entrepreneurship, financial literacy and secure livelihoods.
We are strategic communication experts, dedicated to engaging young people in conversations around issues important to their development and well being in a popular way. Femina Hip informs, inspires, and influences attitudes to ultimately change behaviours. We want our youth to be confident change-makers who are the authors of their own lives.
To address the wide spectrum of challenges which Tanzanian youth face we employ a holistic approach. We provide a combination of knowledge and awareness, promoting engagement by fostering safe environments in which youth can engage in conversations about important topics namely Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights, Economic Empowerment, Citizen Engagement and Youth Connect. These topics together constitute the Femina Hip content agenda.
Embedded in Femina Hip’s content is the mainstreaming of gender equality. We support initiatives and highlight topics that advocate for human and citizen rights, with an emphasis on those that seek to foster independence and positive lifestyles for all young people, particularly girls. Our work aims to create a generation of informed and responsible young Tanzanians who are equipped to contribute to a sustainable future for all.
