Family Friendly Workplaces certification recognises organisations for their proactive efforts to support employees align their work, caring and wellbeing needs, endorsing them as a Family Inclusive Employer against a set of National Work + Family Standards.
Family Friendly Workplaces strive to reduce the tension that exists between work and family by embedding and promoting policies and practices that genuinely support employees to thrive at work and at home.
Guiding Principles of Family Friendly Workplaces
1. Consistent benchmark for organisations to support and encourage Family Friendly Workplace policies, practices and cultures.
2. Standards developed in partnership with UNICEF Australia and endorsed by our Ambassador organisations and Corporate Partners.
3. A clear approach which provides for a baseline and "stretch” recognition.
4. The process to obtain recognition is straightforward to understand and administer.
5. Recognition of organisations be focused on encouraging the continuation of effort in creating a family inclusive workplace.
6. Annual review process of organisations to allow for an update and share of achievements.
Family Friendly Employers provide an industry wide standard for other organisations to aspire to. The purpose of establishing these standards is to raise the industry and societal norms of how businesses care for and engage with their employees.
