FAIRWAY FOODSERVICE was founded in 1984 by five Frozen Food wholesale distribution companies.
A network of independent food distributors servicing the catering industry throughout the United Kingdom and Eire and in 2011 adding a presence on the Spanish Costas and Balearic Islands through Europ Foods. The collective turnover in 1984 was £7 million, today the turnover is £556m and comprises 17 companies operating from 25 depots.
Fairway Foodservice plc negotiates on behalf of its Member companies with suppliers and product manufacturers as it co-ordinates the Members purchasing to effect the best cost price for collective volumes. This is achieved by being efficient in communication of the benefits.
Fairway co-ordinates and manages production of literature on behalf of the Members by utilising electronic data transfer and technology, co-ordinates and manages National Sales to multi-outlet accounts which are serviced by more than one member by using "central invoicing and data collection". Fairway also provides a technical service which ensures all Fairway controlled branded products comply with all current legislation and best practice and makes sure all suppliers conform to controlled standards.
