The Fair Trade Chamber Music Society was founded in 2015 by a group of musicians who are dedicated to performing a diverse range of chamber music. Performing in venues from classrooms to concert halls, we are committed to bringing our music to audiences of all ages.
We are particularly passionate about creating accessible programs for young audiences that are designed to engage and ignite budding classical music lovers. We are working to secure special funding for educational performances to enable us to reach all interested young audiences.
Why “Fair Trade”? Inspired by the Fair Trade social movement, we believe that by fairly compensating musicians for their artistic endeavors, we will increase the value of the music being performed and therefore help secure a place for classical music in today’s society.
What is a Chamber Music Society? We have a trio of core musicians who will perform in most concerts but we also plan to regularly include our amazing colleagues in our performances.
The Fair Trade Chamber Music Society is still evolving, so please watch our website for updates and to see us grow!
Mission Statement: The mission of the Fair Trade Chamber Music Society is to secure a place for classical music in today’s society by fairly compensating musicians for their artistic endeavors and by seeking new ways to connect with and inspire our audiences. By performing diverse repertoire in non-traditional venues and creating accessible and educational programs for young audiences, we believe we will increase the value of classical music while promoting its sustainability and inspiring budding classical music lovers.
