The Faculty of Science is one of the 17 faculties of the Charles University, offering a broad range of bachelor's, master's and doctoral degree programs in biology, geography, geology, chemistry, and environmental sciences. The faculty was founded in 1920 by separating the natural science and mathematical fields from the former Faculty of Philosophy. Over the years, it has seen significant growth and has been home to many renowned scholars, including the site of several historic events such as the 1939 student demonstration and the 1989 Velvet Revolution. Today, the Faculty of Science has approximately 800 employees (600 academics), educating nearly 5,000 undergraduate and graduate students.
