Express Lifts Ltd was founded in 1995 in Ahmedabad by Vasant B Detroja and Bhupat D Khunt, two technocrats who joined hands to begin a quality-driven, techno-corporate mission. The company began its corporate journey with an inherent advantage: its founders had special expertise in the two critical components of elevator technology: Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. Vasant B Detroja is an Electrical Engineer, and Bhupat D Khunt, a Mechanical Engineer. They also shared an innovative spirit, and that distinct spark of excellence, which would later become the hallmarks of the company, and spearhead it into market leadership. Very few companies in India have the techno-capabilities and personnel expertise to manufacture & install Hydraulic Lifts. Even among them, most companies can install lifts only up to the 3-storey level. Only a select few companies manufacture & install Hydraulic Lifts up to the 6-storey level. Among them, Express Lifts is India’s market leader, with 65% market share (in Hydraulic Lifts – industrial & passenger).
