The Academy for Enterprising Girls (10-18) and the Accelerator for Enterprising Women (18-24), are innovative entrepreneurship programs available free to all young women in Australia aged 10 – 24 funded under the Australian Government’s Future Female Entrepreneurs Program.
The two programs seek to build an industry alliance of Australia’s digital leaders, education professionals, entrepreneurial organisations, large and small businesses to ensure Australia’s next generation of businesswomen have the skills to run their own businesses and transform the industries in which they work.
Women are critically underrepresented in STEM and entrepreneurship, both in industry and earlier in life, yet research suggests that STEM and entrepreneurship skills will be critical to the future world of work, and to the Australian economy. The Enterprising Girls and Enterprising Women programs seek to inspire, educate and empower the next generation of innovators, entrepreneurs and job makers by cultivating young women’s skills in design thinking, technology and business.
The programs deliver an engaging digital platform of content and learning modules on relevant topics, as well as a nationwide program of in-person workshops to boost skills, experience, and knowledge through an alliance of government, industry, and the education sector to leverage the unique resources and contributions of each.
