The Endangered Wolf Center is a non-profit organization certified by the Association of Zoos & Aquariums. Founded in 1971 by Marlin Perkins and his wife, Carol, to address the serious plight of wolves at risk of extinction, the EWC set out to change the fate of endangered canids. Today the EWC is considered the cornerstone of wolf conservation in America.
Our vision is a world where wolves and other wild canid species coexist with humans and thrive in their native habitats, recognized and valued for their vital roles as leading members of a healthy ecosystem. Our mission is to preserve and protect Mexican wolves, red wolves and other wild canid species, with purpose and passion, through carefully managed breeding, reintroduction, research and inspiring education programs.
