Employment New Zealand is part of the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE). We provide best practice employment information that helps employers and employees understand what they can do and how they should do it. It includes Employment Mediation Services and the Employment Relations Authority (ERA), which all play an important role in helping employees and employers resolve employment relationship problems in the workplace. Another part of Employment New Zealand is the Labour Inspectorate which can take enforcement action when minimum employment standards are not met.
