The Emerging Technologies Council is a not-for-profit industry association that serves as the apex body for the technology industry in India. Its focus is on building the architecture integral to the development of the technology sector through policy advocacy, research, education, advisory, community building and training, and helping to set up the strategic direction for the sector to unleash its potential and dominate newer frontiers.
The Council is dedicated to expanding India’s role in the global IT order by creating a conducive business environment, simplifying policies and procedures, promoting intellectual capital, and strengthening the talent pool. Its strategic imperatives are to reskill and upskill India’s IT workforce to ensure talent is future-ready in terms of new-age skills, strengthen the innovation quotient across industry verticals, create new market opportunities - both international and domestic, drive policy advocacy to advance innovation and ease of doing business, and build the industry narrative with a focus on Talent, Trust, and Innovation.
The Council also convenes experts ranging from academia to industry in order to provide education and stimulate discussion and debate on council topics. Focus is placed on how emerging technologies, concepts, and trends will impact the future of business and services for citizens. It aims to accelerate the pace of transformation of the industry to emerge as the preferred enablers for global digital transformation.
