Trusted Community Partner
From its inception in 1971 as a grass roots response to a community need, the Gaiser Center has consistently been known as one of the region’s most reputable treatment programs for alcohol and substance use disorders. Our experienced and compassionate staff and modern facilities uniquely position us to provide the highest quality of care for the families we serve in the years to come.
Built on Experience
The center has grown from a men’s drop-in program to a comprehensive resource focused on long-term treatment options for both men and women. Gaiser incorporates evidence-based, gender-specific treatment modalities with education and support in a Recovery Oriented Systems of Care (ROSC) environment with a beautiful, modern, client-centered inpatient facility and an outpatient facility on Liberty Street in downtown Butler for client evaluations and outpatient services.
Leading Through Innovation
A fierce yet compassionate advocate for individuals suffering with addictions, Ellen O’Brien Gaiser led the center from the mid-1970s to the mid-1990s, expanding it into a state-licensed regional resource. With her substantial impact on the center’s advancement and positive influence on the lives of countless individuals in recovery, the Center was named for her in 1995, a year after her passing.
Envisioning the Future of Recovery
For more than 50 years, the Gaiser Center has led in established treatment methods while incorporating innovations to benefit the families we serve. Driving the frontier of Medicine Assisted Treatment, our board-certified addiction medicine specialist guides patients through individualized programs incorporating medications, counseling, education and support for optimal success. From trauma-informed care to yoga and mindfulness activities to faith-based support programs, Gaiser aims to empower every individual for recovery.
