Concept
A meeting of industry representatives on 29 April 2015 discussed the need to develop and promote our industry and elected a Steering Committee to research and report on the structure and scope of a proposed new body to develop and promote our industry.
The Steering Committee: David Green, Ronald Grill, Donald Kay and Clive Pay reported to a second meeting on 25 June and recommended the establishment of a new organisation to focus specifically on the development, promotion and representation of the Adelaide Electronics Industry. The meeting agreed unanimously that the Steering Committee proceed to establish the new body.
Formation
The Constitution has now been developed and approved. The new entity “Electronics Industry Development Adelaide” (EIDA) now formally exists as an Incorporated Association.
The purpose of EIDA, as described in the Constitution is “To develop and promote the electronics industry and profession in the region of Adelaide, South Australia.”
The Steering Committee is now the initial EIDA Management Committee: Donald Kay (Chairman), Clive Pay (Secretary), David Green (Treasurer) and Ronald Grill (Public Officer) and will serve until the first AGM or earlier if a Special General Meeting of members is required.
