We are on the brinck of a fundamental change, caused by universal challenges.
Challenges from a global economic perspective; such as the credit-crunch, a tight labour market and
inflicting demands on the future workforce. Challenges from a an educational perspective such as budget-cuts in higher education on the one hand and escalating tuition fees on the other hand, increasing the demand for reduction in time to competency. As a consequence, academic professions are poised to change more radical over the next two decades, than in two centuries before. Shifting graduate requirements from domain specific knowledge to transferrable skills and the ability to execute knowledge across domains. At the same time, concerns rise university application and placement numbers exceed job opportunities.
Education Revolution is a movement that aims to identify the contemporary needs of higher education and match them with technological solutions. We apply innovative teaching approaches, including emerging technologies such as wearables, virtual worlds and SPOCS to bridge the intellectual stimulus universities focus on, with the job-readiness, employability-oriented skills development.
Education Revolution was set up by Gwen Noteborn, Bram Akkermans and Catalina Goanta out of passion and willingness to engage students to their maximum potential.
