The East African Business Council (EABC) is the umbrella organization of the private sector in East Africa. Established in 1997, EABC is at the forefront of facilitating private sector participation in the integration process of the East African Community (EAC). EABC works closely with East African Community Secretariat, East African Legislative Assembly, governments, regional economic communities, multilateral groups and the business community to improve the region’s trade and investment climate.
EABC members are drawn from private sector associations and business associations from across East Africa. Membership is open to all companies and business associations with interest and operations in the region. Companies and associations can apply to become ordinary members, associate members, individual corporate.
The Company's vision is to be an effective change agent for fostering an enabling business environment for a diversified, competitive, export-led, integrated and sustainable economy; it's Mission is to promote Private Sector's regional and global competitiveness in trade and investment.
EABC projects and programmes are designed to:
•Bring together potential business partners by developing critical contacts and business relationships;
•Provide a forum for exchange of information and ideas;
•Raise East Africa's investment profile both regionally and globally;
•Address issues that limit private sector competitiveness in trade and investment.
