E.G. Kantawala Private Limited E.G. KANTAWALLA was founded as a retail outlet in the year 1918 by Essaji Gulhamhusain Kantawalla. At that time it traded in all types of weighing scales imported from England, France and Germany. In the year 1960, the company ventured into manufacturing. At that time India converted its weighing units from Pounds (British) to Kilogram (Metric). From 1960 to 1987, E.G. KANTAWALLA manufactured almost all types of mechanical weighing scales and measures. All scales, weight and measures manufactured were marketed under the brand name EAGLE. In the year 1987, E.G. KANTAWALLA decided to enter into the electronic weighing scale segment.On 3 rd september 1987, the first EAGLE electronic digital weighing scale was installed at Sun Yarn Pvt.Limited, Silvassa. Since then EAGLE has installed over 1 Million weighing scales and has the capacity to weigh an item from 0.01 mg up to 200 Tons. In the year 1993, the partnership company was incorporated under the Indian companies act and came to be known as E.G. KANTAWALLA PRIVATE LIMITED. The company today comprises of four divisions: Dealer Division: Providing weights and measure dealers with a cost effective and reliable product ranging from 0.01 g to 10,000 kg. Industrial Weighing Division: Manufacturing/Importing electronic weighing scales for industrial weighing as small as 0.01 mg to heavy articles weighing upto 100 Metric Tons. Weigh Bridge Division: Manufacturing road weigh bridges from 20 To 200 Metric Tons. Platform sizes available up to 24m x 3m. Customer Support Division: A team of dedicated and well trained engineers provide solutions to any problems customers may face, this may not necessarily be products supplied by EAGLE. The objective of this division is to support the user totally. Today, E.G. KANTAWALLA PRIVATE LIMITED is probably India's most modern and spacious factory that is located in Pune, a city approximately 200 Km away from Mumbai, the commercial capital of India. The factory and office buildings are situated on a 90,000 sq.ft. plot and have built up area of over 3,400 sq.m. (30,600 sq.ft). Design and Development Our Design & Development group has enabled us to pioneer the indigenous manufacture of a range of Electronic weighing scales, Electronic auto/taxi fare meters and weighing-related solutions. Apart from new product development programs, this group constantly monitors field problems associated with products developed and manufactured by us. A systematic and continuing product improvement process is followed. Marketing The vitality of this group receives top management's prime attention to ensure the evolution of dynamic product-related field marketing strategies, always keeping in mind customers' interest. Our field personnel are carefully selected and appropriately guided to convert sales opportunities into firm orders leading ultimately to customer delight with the Company's products and services. Technical Support There is a Central Service and Training Centre at our Head Office in Pune. Each of our branches has a technical support team with full capability for prompt preventive and breakdown maintenance. Constant training and re-training of technical personnel, both in-house and overseas, facilitates efficient and expert support to our nation-wide installation base.
