We are the largest Almshouse charity in the UK, providing approximately 1,700 suitable homes for older people in the North East of England. Our core area of operation is the former Durham Coalfield, comprising the Districts of Chester-le-Street, Durham, Derwentside, Easington, Gateshead, Sedgefield, South Tyneside, Sunderland and Wear Valley.
