DuMor, Inc. began operations in 1984 with two employees, its founders, M. Richard Rudy and Donald E. Saner and 4,800 square feet of newly constructed manufacturing space in Mifflintown, PA. At that time, DuMor offered 4 wood bench designs, 2 wood receptacle designs, 2 park grill designs, and 1 picnic table design. The company was rooted in the steadfast belief and unwavering commitment of Dick and Don to producing only the best quality products. That commitment to quality as well as exceptional customer service remains strongly entrenched today with the family's 2nd and 3rd generations.
Since beginning operations DuMor has grown steadily and now operates in a facility totaling nearly 85,000 square feet. Its standard product line has expanded to include over 78 bench designs, over 35 receptacle designs, more than 23 table designs as well as planters, ash urns, bollards, bike racks, and grills in a full range of colors and materials such as wood, steel, and recycled plastic.
In addition to its standard product line, one of DuMor’s strengths is the ability to design and produce custom pieces. Another strength is DuMor’s commitment to green manufacturing. The company uses the highest percentage of post consumer and post industrial content steel, the highest quality recycled plastic, and as much wood as possible from mills who harvest on a sustained yield basis.
DuMor products are placed domestically and internationally in a wide variety of venues. In Pennsylvania, the company’s creations can be seen in places like Hersheypark, Penn State University, and the City of Pittsburgh. Nationally, DuMor products are located in places such as Walt Disney resorts and parks, Ruby Tuesday restaurants, Riverwalk, the Memphis Zoo, and the City of Boston.
