Distilleria Bertagnolli 1870

Distilleria Bertagnolli is the oldest family-distillery in Trentino Alto-Adige. The Distillery is in the heart of the Piana Rotaliana, a landscape described by Goethe as the "most beautiful vineyard in Europe", situated at the foot of the Brenta Dolomites - UNESCO World Heritage. Here the climate is ideal for growing exquisite and aromatic grapes, and it’s precisely from these grapes that Bertagnolli obtains Grappa which is rich in flavour and taste. Its origin dates back to 1870 when the landowner Giulia de Kreutzenberg, of Austrian aristocratic descent, married Edoardo Bertagnolli, forebear of the family and heir to an established pharmaceutical business. Giulia's passion combined with Edoardo's experience in distilling with discontinuous steam alembics gave birth to Distilleria Bertagnolli in Mezzocorona (Trento) and the production of distilled spirits of excellent quality. Today, the cousins Livia and Beppe Bertagnolli represent the 4th generation of the dynasty. With pride and ambition, they continue to manage their family company: a distillery with over 145 years of history, tradition, innovation, and exceptional quality. Since its founding in 1870, Gran Grappino® Bertagnolli has been produced by the Distillery, and it is its best-selling product of all the time. It is obtained by the distillation of pomace of Teroldego, the most traditional and popular red grape of Trentino characterized by its intense aromas of blueberry and other local berries, and the pomace of other grapes from the vineyards of Trentino that complement its aromatic bouquet. Gran Grappino® impresses its enthusiasts and admirers due to its organoleptic features, its harmony and its ability to sincerely represent the magical terroir it comes from. Every year, since 1989, it has been awarded with the Gold Medal at ‘Alambicco d’Oro’ Spirit Award by ANAG (National Association of Grappa Tasters) and branded ‘TrentinoGrappa’ by the Istituto Tutela Grappa del Trentino.
