The Catholic Diocese of St. Augustine was established in 1870 and is comprised of 54 parishes and 17 missions and chapels, 2 basilicas, the National Shrine of Our Lady of La Leche, 40 schools, hundreds of ministries and Marywood, a robust retreat and conference center. Today, the diocese is led by our 11th bishop, Most Rev. Erik Pohlmeier, and embraces 17 counties spanning the northeast section of Florida from the Gulf of Mexico to the Atlantic Ocean. It covers 11,032 square miles and serves more than 176,000 registered Catholics.
