Devdaya charitable trust was formed in 2004 to provide Education and Healthcare for under privileged children in India. Our activities are primarily concentrated in promoting healthcare and education in Gujarat. Since it’s inception in 2004 Devdaya’s focused on providing education and healthcare to those desperately in need, predominantly in Gujarat.
Devdaya’s principal mission is to eradicate childhood blindness in Gujarat. We have a fully functioning Eye Hospital and Diagnostic Centre that provides free care for all those who cannot afford it. We also have mobile units that go out to the rural areas to pre screen children and try to prevent the problem at source.
Devdaya was the brainchild of the late Dr Ramnik Mehta (1941-2021) who grew up in a small village in Gujarat and whose education was somehow sponsored by his mother Daya Ben, a tiny uneducated widow whose name lives on through Devdaya Charitable Trust.
Ultimately our goal is to provide health care, education and therefore hope to those less fortunate than ourselves. It is the considered objective of Mrs Bhanu Mehta (Ramnik Bhai’s wife) and the other trustees to continue and build on the immense legacy of our founder Dr Ramnik Mehta.
