At present is has almost 5,700 students from 72 countries. As a Europe-based university offering state-of-the-art bachelor’s and master’s programmes, teacher training degrees and renowned internationally for its research, the German Sport University Cologne has constantly influenced sport science and provided it with new impulses. The renowned Anti-Doping Laboratory of the Institute of Biochemistry’s supports the international fight against doping, experiments conducted at the Institute of Physiology and Anatomy have soared into space with the astronauts, and at the German Research Centre of Elite Sport (momentum) many institutes cooperate with the supervision system of elite athletes.
