"It's a movement that just happens to have a book..."
--Seth Godin
In 1999, at the age of 24, Tony Hsieh sold LinkExchange, the company he co-founded, to Microsoft for $265 million. He then joined Zappos as an adviser and investor, and eventually became CEO, where he helped Zappos grow from almost no sales to over $1 billion in gross merchandise sales annually, while simultaneously making Fortune magazine’s annual “Best Companies to Work For” list. Zappos was acquired by Amazon in November 2009 in a deal valued at $1.2 billion on the day of closing.
Tony’s first book, Delivering Happiness: A Path to Profits, Passion, and Purpose, debuted at #1 on the New York Times Bestseller list and remained on the list for 27 consecutive weeks.
Following the success of the book, Tony and the Delivering Happiness team decided to go on a 23- city, 3-month bus tour with a 47-foot Happy Bus. They traveled cross-country with one mission in mind: to talk firsthand with the people that have been inspired by the book (and thus, inspired the team in return).
