Defacto Urbanism

Defacto Urbanism is an interdisciplinary design office. Our services cover a wide range from strategy development to design – on scales from architecture and interiors to urban design and planning. It is our specialty to work on projects in which technical and spatial aspects are combined in an integrated plan. In the domain of urban design and planning, Defacto works on regional visions, complex strategic projects, research by design and design assignments. The projects often have a strong research component, where correctly translating research to design is crucial. Over the years, Defacto built a strong reputation in the areas of designing with water and utilising temporary concepts in urban design and planning. We regularly publish in journals and published 'Amphibious Housing in The Netherlands' with NAI Publishers.
