Every educator and therapist at De LaSalle is committed to maintaining high academic standards while adjusting curriculum and teaching approaches to the specific needs of our students with learning challenges.
Students are grouped by ability for reading and math instruction, often with as few as four to eight in a group. Science and Social Studies classes are taught in each homeroom group, utilizing state-of-the-art differentiated instruction techniques. Hands-on activities and the use of manipulative materials and graphic organizers are standard instructional approaches in all subjects. We emphasize process over product. We don’t just teach students information…We teach them how to learn.
