Founded in 1962 by the Brothers of the Christian School, DLSL was built on a 5.9 hectare lot along the national highway. Financed by interest-free loans from Caltex and Shell Corporations, construction of the three one-storey wings of classrooms, a gymnasium-auditorium and the Brothers' House began on January 1962. During its first year, DLSL operated as the Boy's Department of the Maryknoll Sisters' Our Lady of the Rosary Academy (OLRA). As the Maryknoll Sisters were phasing out OLRA's Boys' Department, 221 students were admitted from first to fourth year. Today DLSL has programs for primary, secondary and tertiary education with over 10,000 students from nursery to College and post graduate such as MMT and MBA.
DLSL started offering K12 programs with four tracks since 2013. A two-year in-depth specialization for students based on the career track they want to pursue. This will also address the international standard set among countries for standardization of curriculum to make students globally competitive.
