Dagen Zonder Vlees, literally translated as Days Without Meat, is a trendy Flemish campaign about the ecological impact of our eating habits on the environment. The idea is simple: to eat less meat and fish during the 40 days of Lent (01/03 – 15/04 2017). Every year, a growing number of people take up the challenge (90.000 participants in 2016). Together, they try to reduce their collective ecological footprint as much as possible. You can participate as an individual and as a group.
Why? Because meat consumption is one of the main causes of climate change. Since Belgium is ranked in the top 10 of countries with the highest ecological footprint, we want to send out a powerful message.
