DCM was founded in 2008 by Dario Suter, Christoph Daniel and Marc Schmidheiny as a film production company. In 2010, Joel Brandeis joined the partners who gave the company its name.
Following the production of its first feature film, WAFFENSTILLSTAND, the company got involved in film distribution as well by taking over the Berlin-based film distributor Delphi Filmverleih in 2011.
In 2013, DCM extended its distribution business to Switzerland where it is managed by Stephanie Candinas.
DCM’s first success as distributors came in 2012 with the award-winning film THE ARTIST which received five Oscars®, three Golden Globes® and numerous other awards. In addition to its own productions – such as the beloved children’s film series BIBI & TINA – DCM co-produced hit films like Dustin Hoffman’s directorial debut QUARTET or ASTRID and continues to bring national and international productions such as CAROL, MOONLIGHT or THE OLD MAN AND THE GUN to the cinema screens.
Since its foundation, DCM has also been active as a seed and early stage investor, providing strategic and operational support to young companies in Berlin.
With the unusual combination of its three business areas – film production, film distribution and startup investments – DCM has made a name for itself in the film world and Berlin startup scene.
The company currently employs over 40 people with offices in Berlin and Zurich and is always looking for talents who are enthusiastic about film, media and technology.
