The DC Jazz Festival celebrates America’s singular original art form in the nation’s capital, showcasing local, nationally and internationally renowned artists that draws visitors from across the country and the world.
100 performances in 50 venues, and over the last two years, the combined attendance is 180,000. Our reach is far and wide, from performances at National Mall, at the Kennedy Center, the Lincoln Theatre, and the Phillips Collection, to events at more than 30 jazz clubs, embassies, hotels, galleries, and restaurants . We help promote the growth of existing businesses, such as hotels and restaurants. Our attendees visit other cultural and hospitality destinations while attending our festival.
We are recognized as a world-class festival within the global jazz community, and ranks alongside other major festivals such as Chicago Blues Festival, Newport Jazz Festival, and San Francisco Jazz Festival.
Education is a core component serving 5,000 D.C.-area students, presenting year-round activities with area schools, museums and community organizations.
Our programs are primarily free to the public, and accessible to a wide range of audiences, including children, families, and adults; as well as ticketed events.
