The DATABENC District (Distretto ad Alta TecnologiA per i BENi Culturali – High Technology Consortium for Cultural Heritage) is a limited liability consortium (S.C.a R.L.), set up on October 17, 2012.
DATABENC is born from a planning idea promoted by the Universities of Naples ‘Federico II’ and of Salerno, on which today more than 60 subjects converge, included SMEs, Large Enterprises, Research Centers and Universities.
DATABENC arises with the purpose of developing an intervention of strategic planning about cultural heritage, environmental patrimony and tourism, which aims at making the archaeological and artistic sites a starting point of cultural and economic relaunch.
DATABENC represents an open innovation eco-system, based on an advanced network of public and private subjects (institutes, universities, research centers, enterprises, associations, etc.) that, capitalizing everyone’s innovative capital (scientific, technological, economic, relational and social), generates, spreads and holds sharable value.
DATABENC aims at building an integrated platform consisting of rules, procedures, good practices and technologies, in conformity with the European model of smart environment, capable of contributing to solve some of the difficulties of our cultural heritage in Campania and in Italy.
In line with the guidelines of the Horizon 2020 initiative, DATABENC wants to propose the concepts of Smart Innovation and Smart Environment as effective, carefully planned and fully sustainable actions.
