Credenda Empowerment Foundation champions the broad-based socio economic empowerment strategy of the South African government.
Credenda is structured as a trust. Its objective is to enhance the prospects for Previously Disadvantaged Individuals to work in Management Consulting and Financial Services. Credenda has identified these 2 industries as significantly lagging in terms of employment equity, as set out in the Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment codes of good-practice.
The beneficiaries of the trust participate in the Credenda Chrysalis Programme. This programme aims at promoting the development of skills that will allow the beneficiairies to find employment and develop successful careers in management consulting or financial services.
The Chrysalis programme has 2 main tenets:
- Education: the trust will assist each participant in gaining a relevant professional qualification by funding a formal study course
- Experience: the trust will enter into an agreement with a suitable consulting or financial company to offer a 2-year work contract to the participant.
Candidates who wish to apply to become a beneficiary of the trust and participate in the Chrysalis programme must match the profile of a Previously Disadvantaged Individual and have tertiary education. For further information, please send an email to trustees@credenda.co.za
The funding of the programme is supported by investments into private companies. Credenda controls an investment company, Credo Business Group, who has majority interests in several private companies. Credo qualifies as a B-BEEE Level 2 organisation.
