Our mission is to promote the personal and environmental benefits of cooking from scratch in local communities in Greater Manchester and across the UK. We do this by delivering cooking classes and courses, and training, as part of a wider campaign for affordable, sustainable and healthier food for all.
We passionately campaign for a fairer food industry and access to good, healthy food for all by fighting against food waste, and using surplus food from growers and suppliers, thus diverting food from composting and landfill.
Cracking Good Food launched in March 2010, with the simple aim of inspiring a love of cooking good food from scratch and enjoying eating together with friends and family. Now, we are involved in a range of services and activities including:
- Campaigning
- Training
- Education
- Teambuilding events
- Volunteering opportunities
- Sponsorship
- Supporting and facilitating academic research
Additionally, we run a carefully crafted Cookery School for paying customers. The revenue generated from that helps to subsidise our work with hard to reach communities.
We are always seeking new and inspiring ways to promote the vast social and physical and mental health benefits of good food, and to fight for a fairer food industry.
