Counselor Coffee

Counselor Coffee single-origin cold brew coffee is born in Maryland. We believe that everyone has their own preferences for flavor profiles, and seek to help our community explore their palettes to find the tastes that make them happy. To each their own, the science of taste. Counselor Coffee provides a unique coffee experience unlike ever before in the cold brew coffee industry. Initially started as a pop-up shop in Washington D.C. in the summer of 2014, we decided to take a bold risk in launching the first cold brew coffee company exclusively focusing on single origins. Through our tasting events, pairings, and the 30 origins we first launched in 2014, our community has helped shape the origins we source and brew. Coffee can, and should, be an incredible, individualized experience. We have learned to think of coffee like we think of wine, each origin (vineyard) and roast (winery) produce a unique offering. We have found cold brew coffee to be the best "entry point" for the new coffee drinker or the coffee aficionado looking to explore their pallets - the brew process results in more accessible tasting notes. We brew each single origin to the same exact specifications, letting the flavors of the bean shine, rather then adjusting brew variables to conform to a "classic coffee" taste. We don't think we can brew the perfect coffee for everyone, we believe we can brew the perfect coffee for anyone. We are starting our new product offerings with the Summer Classics Line - a rotation of the select single-origins we found to be the most popular during our summer pop-up, and each within the same range of tasting notes. We strive to be an increasingly sustainable business, we source roasted beans locally, we produce locally, and we live and breathe our communities in Baltimore and DC.
