About
Copper Star Coffee invites you to come in for a locally roasted cup of coffee and freshly baked pastries. Meet a friend you haven't seen lately or meet a client who always runs late. You decide why to stop by. Established in 2006. Our story begins in 1933 when one of the first service stations north of Indian School Road opened to provide for a growing Phoenix population. Dilapidated and in need of some serious TLC, owner Bill Sandweg wrangled with city officials for nearly a year and a half to re-purpose the historic edifice to serve a different kind of fuel: java. The process was a catalyst for the City of Phoenix's Adaptive Reuse Program and brought a much-needed and welcomed staple to the M7 Curve in CenPho's historic Melrose District. Today we're proud to provide the community with great service, home made eats, treats and beverages in an inviting and relaxed atmosphere. The community thanks us as well with AZCentral's Reader's Choice Award for "Best Non Chain Coffee House" and The Phoenix New Time's "Best Of" award for our famous Black & White cupcakes. Stop in today and be part of our on-going history.
