Cookie Cart teaches life, leadership, and employment skills to teens of color through on-the-job and classroom experiences in nonprofit bakeries.
Each year 150- 200 teens are employed by Cookie Cart, where they learn job skill basics by working in the bakery, packing cookie orders for thousands of customers each year. Additionally, they learn job skills in a classroom setting, learning resume writing, financial literacy, leadership, customer service, and interview skills.
This youth development program is a 501(c)(3) registered non-profit organization. One-third of our revenue comes from selling our fresh, delicious cookies and two-thirds comes from gifts and grants from the community. This model helps us sustain and grow our program to meet the needs of youth in North Minneapolis and on Saint Paul's East Side.
