Attach Accessories or Connect Shipping Containers Without Welding or Modifications!
The Shipping Container NUT can be inserted into the side and front apertures of ISO 1161 shipping container corner castings and allows accessories and brackets to be attached with bolts. No welding or other modifications to the container is necessary. Shipping Container NUTs can be installed and removed without tools and are reusable. Store bought bolts are used to fasten accessories and brackets to the nut. Attachments must have holes matching the tapped holes of the nut. Brackets can be designed to attach anything to a shipping container or adjoin shipping containers in innovative configurations. The flush design gives a cleaner installed look suitable for architectural and display applications.
Repurposed shipping containers are increasingly being used by architects and designers as structural building elements instead of for their traditional use transporting cargo around the world. Shipping containers can be used in many static applications including storage, construction, hydroponic farms, event displays, modular offices and housing. One of the keys to unlocking additional uses is by innovating the ways they can be connected together and attaching accessories.
Shipping containers are usually connected together using their 3-hole corners, known as corner castings. The traditional device used to connect containers are called twist locks. These allow a loose connection to other containers and to transportation platforms like Semi trailers and cargo ships. This method is ideal when using a container for shipping but not for building structures and other uses outside of the shipping industry. Shipping Container NUTs used with brackets allow a rigid vertical or horizontal connection to be made at almost any angle which makes the Shipping Container NUT completely unique and versatile.
