Since being established by Washington County, Oregon in 2003, The Community Housing Fund (CHF) has originated over $11 million in loans and leveraged over $550 million while supporting development of over 2,400 affordable homes in the county.
CHF - OUR HISTORY:
As a revolving loan fund, CHF helps seed one new affordable housing project after another to expand housing access and equity for those in need. As a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI), CHF works largely with statewide and local nonprofit housing developers, leveraging relationships to provide access to low cost financing for land acquisition, pre development costs, and affordable housing construction, preservation and homeownership.
Over the last decade, in achieving CDFI certification, CHF garnered funding from US Treasury and local foundations to help expand our capacity, our loan pool, range of loan offerings and mission impacts.
Most recently, CHF formed a partnership, called Advancing Cities, with Craft3 and Network for Oregon Affordable Housing (NOAH) with support from JP Morgan Chase. together, the organizations harness their loan capacity and local partnerships to prevent displacement and address housing equity along Washington County's SW Corridor. CHF also formed partnerships with Unite Oregon and HomePlate Youth Services to provide housing education and leadership training, to bring more diverse voices and lived experience to the decision-making bodies that impact housing.
