COMCEL (http://www.comcelhaiti.com), is an enterprise of development of wireless telephony in Haiti, whose headquarters is in Port-au-Prince. Created in 1997, the company launched the wireless services in Haiti in 1999 and in August 2005 has received permission to operate a GSM network at the national level. The network was inaugurated on October 21st and that event has been the subject of media coverage throughout the country. COMCEL (Also known under the brand of Voila) has now close to one million clients from all economic levels of the nation. Its majority shareholder, Trilogy International Partners, based in Bellevue, Washington, has developed operations of wireless worldwide. The Trilogy's current portfolio consists of three operators: Bolivia (Nuevatel), Dominican Republic (Dominicana Trilogy) and Haiti.
