NGO founded in 1968 by a group of doctors from Turin with the aim of promoting and ensuring the right to health for all, particularly for the most vulnerable part of population in low-income countries.
CCM works in Burundi, Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, South Sudan and Uganda where, in collaboration with the local authorities, is committed to promoting access to basic health care. Through international cooperation projects it reinforces the existing health facilities and upgrades the network of health services, especially in villages far from the hospitals. It focuses on training local staff in order to leave in Africa competences and skills after the conclusion of its activities.
In Italy CCM facilitates the access of migrants and refugees to health services and it promotes training for health workers and intercultural mediators. Since around 10 years, it deals with global citizenship education in Piedmont schools.
