Downtown Columbus is fast becoming one of the most attractive center cities in the country. Thanks to the leadership, facilitation and advocacy of Columbus Downtown Development Corporation (CDDC) and Capitol South Community Urban Redevelopment Corporation (Capitol South), many new city-changing projects have been completed, with more coming online every day.
CDDC and Capitol South are private, non-profit development corporations with a shared mission to lead city-changing projects in the heart of Ohio’s capital city. CDDC was created in 2002 to implement the Downtown Strategic Plan, while Capitol South was formed in 1974 with the mission of redeveloping the area just south of Capitol Square.
Award-winning projects include the Columbus Commons, the Lazarus Building revitalization, The Scioto Mile and the Scioto Greenways. CDDC also serves as developer for the future National Veterans Memorial & Museum on the Scioto Peninsula.
