The Colorado School of Trades (CST) is a private, fully accredited trade school located in Lakewood, Colorado. Since 1947, CST has trained our students in the artisan craft of Gunsmithing. Students who successfully complete our 14-month program are awarded an Associate Degree in the Occupational Studies of Gunsmithing. With our entirely hands on approach, we teach skills & trade specialties such as polishing, welding, woodworking, metal finishing and machining to include lathe and mill work. Our school is unique in that our pupils work on real customer firearms, an experience exclusive to only us. This educational experience comes coupled with building their own project rifle. The student chooses the chambering, barrel length, & stock features. It’s then up to the student to chamber the rifle using the machines they trained on and then inlet & shape two stocks (synthetic & real walnut).
Holding a national accreditation since 1990, we offer and accept several options for financial aid including Pell Grants, federal lending and GI Benefits. Our graduates go on to for law enforcement agencies, manufacturers, to custom shops.
CST also has a repairs shop open to the public for firearm repair offering a wide range of firearm service, repair and customization.
