Colleen'S Corner

Colleen’s Corner is a non-profit in memory of Colleen Ortega who was an educator and teacher coach in Passaic school district for over 20 years. Colleen believed reading comprehension skills were the foundation to personal/academic success, and an opportunity for a child to explore the boundless possibilities of the world, regardless of the limitations of their reality. it is our goal to fuel a child's desire to read and be read to at an early age. To accomplish this goal we created a two pronged approach by focusing on the children and their parents. We currently provide children with a comfortable location to read and explore new and old child appropriate books. We also empower parents to read more to their kids by providing them with an online resource guide. We currently serve 200+ physical locations within classrooms and other children centric locations and are actively developing ColleensCorner.net to be a go-to parental resource guide and a platform for teachers to educate parents.
