Collective Being is a non-profit organisation dedicated to fostering the physical, emotional, and social wellbeing of communities through somatics, movement, and mindfulness.
Through our programs, educational offerings, and advocacy, we aim to dismantle structural barriers to wellbeing, and to transform the systems that service and provide care to communities in need.
Service Delivery: Somatic movement and mindfulness wellbeing programs for people and communities across the life course.
Education: Professional development and training for frontline workers, leaders, educators, and practitioners in social services and care sectors.
Advocacy: Advocating for the rights of everyone in our community to access healing and experience wellbeing
We exist between the intersections of embodiment, healing, justice and social change. We draw on a range of body-based, decolonised, philosophical, scientific and community-centred resources to create our programs, broaden our understandings, and dive into the deep work of co-liberation.
To design our programs and offerings, we draw on the living wisdom traditions of hatha yoga and Buddhism, as well as the contemporary philosophies and practices of somatics, mindfulness, trauma-informed practice and contemplative studies.
This approach is shaped by a deep honour and respect for the resilience, strength and capacity of the Victorian community. We are an LGBTIQ+ affirming and anti-racist organisation, with social justice and change firmly at the root of our work.
Collective Being acknowledges the Boonwurrung and Woiwurrung peoples of the Kulin Nation on whose lands we live, work and learn, and offer our deepest respects and gratitude to Elders past, present and emerging. We recognise that sovereignty has never been ceded and commit to ongoing practices of decolonisation and right relationship that honour the leadership and self-determination of Boonwurrung and Woiwurrung peoples.
