Collaborative Utility Solutions was formed as a non-profit entity to address key needs common to electric utilities across the United States (and beyond) in a manner that will save customers and utilities significant costs. CUS’s goal is to develop and support those utility processes and systems that can be the same from utility to utility and, therefore, implemented at a dramatically reduced cost and create a much more efficient shared ecosystem of use by all of the stakeholders in the energy value chain. With more than 3,000 utilities in the U.S. being regulated by FERC, NERC, state utility commissions, municipal governments, boards, etc., it is easy to say that every solution for every utility must be specific for that utility. While this may be true for many processes, it's not true for everything. Our initial focus is provide a Distributed Energy Resource(DER) Registry for the industry to more efficiently and effectively enable DERs to the grid and markets.
As a non-profit entity, we exist solely for the purpose to support our members to bring these common solutions to the industry. Electricity is the lifeblood of the world we live in and Collaborative Solutions will lower the cost of deployment and on-gong support while improving the effectiveness of the entire energy value chain for all stakeholders. We are excited to work in partnership with electric utilities across the nation to leverage our similarities for the benefit of all electric customers.
