Coastal Jazz is a Vancouver-based not-for-profit arts organization and registered charity. As BC’s largest music presenter, the society is the producer of the annual Vancouver International Jazz Festival, one of the most critically acclaimed jazz festivals in the world.
The 38th edition of the Vancouver International Jazz Festival takes place from June 23 to July 2, 2023 across multiple locations across Vancouver, with 140 performances, including over 50 free shows. The Festival kicks off with a free Downtown Jazz concert series outside the Vancouver Art Gallery and šxʷƛ ̓ ənəq Xwtl’e7énḵ Square and includes marquee shows at Queen Elizabeth Theatre and Vancouver Playhouse, plus club shows at various downtown venues, and culminates on Canada Day weekend at Granville Island venues including Performance Works, Ocean Artworks and The Revue Stage.
Expect to see over 300 performers from 13 countries participating in the Vancouver International Jazz Festival, including Australia, Belgium, China, Columbia, Cuba, Gambia, Nicaragua, Paraguay, Poland, South Africa, Sweden, the United States and Canada.
Coastal Jazz has also been a leader in music Education and Outreach, offering diverse and innovative music programs for youth and the general public.
